DESCRIPTION:
APW - Rockford, Grade 665 with winding indicator, 17J, 16S, gold-filled OF original Rockford case with initials to rear, unusual shaped bow, "Rockford Indicator" marked white enamel DS dial, SW-SS, parallel wave pattern nickel damascene, s#830497. An excellent example of this uncommon winding indicator watch. The total production of the Grade 665 is estimated at 1900 made per the April 2008 NAWCC Bulletin "Railroader's Corner" article covering the Rockford Indicator grades.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, oxide to regulator spring and in some spots to winding wheels, few fine scratches to plates; excellent dial with light hl at 11:30, small scratch near 4; nearly mint hands apart from some oxide to tip of minute; case shows little wear, two short scratches adjacent rear seam, one pinprick nick to band near 9, no dents or dings, engraving detail shows mild reduction, spot of wear to brass within rear; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
